Does anyone else feel this huge wave of motivation when a new year begins? I know I do! I have never felt more inspired and I can’t wait to share some amazing content with you this year (read this post for more on that!). That is why, I am going to share some of my New Years resolutions and also, 5 unrealistic goals for 2019 with you.
However, this year I am not making specific resolutions that I just know I won’t stick to. Instead, I am going to write some long term goals that I would ideally like to achieve within the year. I do like goals that I can tick off as the year goes on, but quite often I give up after just a few weeks and then it’s pointless! So here a few of my new years resolutions and goals this year.
5 New Years Resolutions for 2019
1. Prioritise my Health
This covers a variety different things. Weight loss, resting enough, getting blood tests, actually going to the dentist. I really want to be in the best health and shape possible in 2019 so a lot fo my smaller goals will have this larger goal in mind. If you want to know more about how I will focus on my health, you can read this post here.
2. Grow my Blog and Social Media
In 2018, I have steadily grown and improved my blog and I would really like to continue doing that. It is a huge passion of mine and honestly, I just can’t get enough. See my unrealistic goals below for more specific details!
3. Get a Cat
Sorry, but I just need a cat in my life.
4. Get Financially Savvy
I have always been very organised with my money and savings, ever since I opened my first bank account. I have a spreadsheet with my income and outgoings and also a spreadsheet for my budget each month. It has always worked well for me, until the past few months. I’ve had more bills to pay and suddenly it just wasn’t working and I wasn’t sticking to my budget. So this year I want to get on top of my finances, save regularly and become more financially savvy.
5. Read More Books
I’m not going to set a specific number of books that I want to read in 2019, because I know that won’t happen. But, I would like to make it a habit of mine to read a couple of chapters of a book every night before I go to bed. I would also love to make it a habit to read a chapter of a self-help book every morning to help motivate and inspire me for the day. If you have any good recommendations, please let me know in the comments below!
5 Unrealistic Goals for 2019
I also wanted to make some unrealistic goals for 2019. Hello Miss Jordan recently wrote a blog post reflecting on her unrealistic goals for 2018 and has updated them for 2019 and I just loved this idea and wanted to do it myself. I’ve stuck with mainly blog related goals with these so we can check back next year to see how I’ve done!
1. Reach 10,000 followers on Instagram
I’ve only just hit 1000 followers so 10,000 is almost definitely out of reach for 2019 but it’s worth a try! I need that swipe up feature in my life!! (A more realistic goal for this would be 2000…).
2. Reach 1000 followers on YouTube
Considering I’ve only posted 2 videos so far, this seems very unlikely but you never know! I do know I want to try and post at least one video every month so even if I just got 10 subscribers for each video I would be happy!
3. Hit 50,000 views on my Blog
This is definitely one of my bigger goals, unrealistic as it may be! I want to stay organised and post every week on my blog and hopefully that will help me achieve this crazy goal! I’m half way there… how hard can it be?!
4. Grow the Blogging in Bed Facebook group to 500 Members
This isn’t that unlikely, but I doubt it will happen. My little Facebook group has been steadily growing for a couple of years now and is currently has about 200 members. My ultimate goal is 500 though!
5. Have 10 Brand Collaborations
This year I have had 4 companies send me some products to try out and review and I have also had 2 sponsored posts. I would LOVE to get 10 more in 2019, that would be absolutely amazing! If any brands are reading this… hit me up!
So there we have it! 5 long term goals / New Years Resolutions and 5 completely unrealistic goals! I’m looking forward to this year so much and I really hope my initial motivation doesn’t run out!
