If you’re anything like me, you live and breathe music. Whether I’m cleaning, studying or putting makeup on, I’m listening to music. It’s even better if you can listen to your music loud and proud! You could try the Panasonic Multi Room Speakers so you can really sing your heart out!
I thought for this post I would talk about a couple of my favourite musicals from 2018 and how their sound tracks that have inspired me! I hope you can agree with me!
The Greatest Showman
To be honest, I don’t really understand how anyone doesn’t like this film. I am obsessed! From the music, to the storyline, to the actors (can we just appreciate Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron please?!), you really can’t go wrong.
I think my favourite songs have to be The Greatest Show, A Million Dreams and This Is Me. Each one of them gets me inspired every time.
The Singing Society actually surprise the 4 of us that were leaving and sang A Million Dreams at the end of our benefit concert which got us all going! Now, every time I listen to it, I get all emotional again!
This Is Me also an incredibly inspiring song. Talk about body positivity and being unapologetically you. This song instantly lifts my spirits and gets me singing along in no time!
I think this musical is the perfect reminder that you don’t have to be perfect. Also, that sometimes it is enough, and you don’t have to keep fighting for more and more. This film reminds me to be proud of what I have achieved, and inspires me to work hard for more, but within reason.
Anytime I feel a little bit down or unmotivated, I whack this soundtrack on loud and have a sing-a-long – what could be better?!
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
Ok so the next musical that has inspired me is Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. I loved the first one, so I knew I would love the second. And dare I say, I might actually prefer it?! Here are a few things that I love about Mamma Mia…
- Lily James is beaut
- Cher is in it
- Lily James & Josh Dylan singing Why does it have to be me?
- It’s full of GIRL BOSS moments
What better way to get inspired than singing a bit of ABBA at the top of your voice, while pretending to be Lily James?! It definitely works for me.
Is it sad to admit that I actually have a playlist just for the two Mamma Mia soundtracks? It is pretty much all I am listening to at the moment and I just can’t get enough!
Both of these musicals have definitely become a big part of my life. Listening to the top 40 has become a thing of the past because all I want to hear is ABBA or Hugh Jackman’s amazing, deep voice.
